The cute and cuddly Cavapoo. How can anyone not love these doggos? They’re so affectionate and playful that anyone that meets them instantly becomes attached. This breed has a pack mentality and loves meeting new people and new dogs. It is rare to see the Cavapoo getting into a confrontation with another pup.
The Cavapoo is a mixed breed, they are a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle. This combination is where their often-used nickname “Cavadoodle” comes from. This breed was created in Australia in the late 1990s, making this a relatively new breed. The intention was to create a calm, intelligent little dog that does not shed a lot to cater to people with allergies.
These pups will literally be attached to the hip of their owners, similar to a little kid that doesn’t leave his mom alone when they’re bored. It is important to allow these dogs to get used to being alone when they are puppies, otherwise, they can feel tremendous separation anxiety in the times when nobody is around. These little doggos can also become quite destructive when they are left alone, especially if they haven't been trained for it.
The Cavapoo is an excellent choice for a family dog. They’ll love all the attention that they’ll receive and will always be ready to play. They only weigh up to 25 pounds making them very manageable in the house/apartment setting. Don't expect these pups to be good watchdogs though, as they are super friendly and will likely greet an intruder as opposed to scaring them away. If you are looking for a dog that has a great personality and will show endless amounts of affection, the Cavapoo is an amazing choice.
