The Schnoodle is a fun dog to be around as they are always excited to play. These pups are active and will require a heavy dose of daily exercise. They will make excellent jogging companions and will also love to head to the park to play a nice game of fetch. No matter where you are going, your Schnoodle will always be ready to tag along for the adventure.
This mixed breed is a combination of the Schnauzer and the Poodle. They were developed in the 1980s to create a dog that would not shed too much and make a great family companion. Given that both the Schnauzer and the Poodle come in three different sizes, the size of the Schnoodle varies, and they can weigh anywhere between 20-75 pounds. They also come in just about any color, so there is no exact standard as to how the Schnoodle should appear physically.
Like their Schnauzer parent, the Schnoodle has a protective instinct, and they are great watchdogs. They will bark at any potential danger, although their idea of danger can be pretty broad. Curbing their instinct to bark is probably desirable, especially if you don’t want to get on your neighbor's bad side. Their high intelligence comes from their Poodle parent, and they are very quick learners. It is amazing how quickly these doggos can pick up new tricks!
As a family companion, the Schnoodle is as loving as they come. These adorable doggos always seem to be in a great mood which is very uplifting for the people that live with them. Their cheerful personality makes them excellent therapy dogs, and they help many people around the world. If you are looking for the kind of dog that will be sure to put a smile on your face every day, the Schnoodle might just be the right dog for you!
