One of the rarest mixed breeds today. The Afador is a mix between the Afghan Hound and the Labrador Retriever. This pup originated in Alaska and is also often referred to as the Afghan Lab.
These doggos have tons of energy and require daily exercise. They are extremely athletic and absolutely love to play fetch. Make sure to keep a close eye on them at the dog park because their athleticism would allow them to easily hop over the fence!
This dog is generally recommended for more experienced dog owners. They can be very stubborn and are known to be quite difficult to train. That being said, once these dogs are properly trained, they will make amazing, loyal pets. The Afghan Lab makes an excellent guard dog too and will be sure to let you know if a stranger is coming close to your door. Needless to say, they will not be the mailman’s best friend.
This medium-sized dog typically weighs anywhere between 50-75 pounds. They make great family pets however it is recommended to keep an eye on them when they are playing with children as they tend to get rowdy. They generally do well in homes with other pets, but they will need to get used to your other pets from a very early age so that they don’t accidentally mistake them for prey!
