Miniature Schnauzer

The Miniature Schnauzer. The dog breed with so much personality that you’ll be wondering why you can’t be as cool as them. Even their style is better than yours as they rock their trademark beard and mustache. These dogs are extremely people-oriented and are always excited to meet new friends. Given their fun, outgoing, affectionate personalities, these little guys are among the most popular dog breeds in the world.

These dogs were originally bred in Germany in the late 19th century as ratters. They are part of the Terrier group, which makes hunting and killing rooted in their genes. Even though these doggos do not serve this purpose today, they retained their excellent digging skills, so do not be surprised if you receive an offering of an old dead bird from your pup. The Miniature Schnauzer was bred to be a smaller version of the Standard Schnauzer. While they may look very similar and constitute a lot of the same DNA, the Miniature Schnauzer is a distinct breed.

These doggos are full of energy and need constant attention. They will be sure to follow you from room to room and will always be ready to play. As soon as you stop playing with them, they will do their best to get you back in the mood. Their antics will make you laugh, making this dog very amusing to have around. The Miniature Schnauzer adores their people, and they are very protective of them. Their incredible loyalty toward their family makes them excellent watchdogs. Even though this dog will only weigh between 11-20 pounds, they have the fearless nature of a Rottweiler, don’t judge a book by its cover!

As great as these dogs are, owners must be aware of their stubborn nature. The owner must assert dominance over this dog in every aspect of the day to day life. Once the dog understands who is in charge, training them will be fairly easy. They are intelligent dogs and enjoy learning and performing new tricks. If you know or own a Miniature Schnauzer, you know that all they are interested in is having fun. They love being the center of attention, and there will never be a dull moment with these little pups around.
