The Rottador is a wonderful family pet to have, as they have tons of great qualities that can make them suitable for all kinds of dog lovers. This breed is very affectionate as well as loyal toward its people, and once you bring one of these pups home they will quickly become your new best friend.
This doggo is a relatively new breed and is a combination between the Rottweiler and the Labrador Retriever. Both of the parent breeds of this mix are working dogs, so the Rottador behaves in the same manner. The breed was originally developed sometime in the 1990s in North America, to create a dog that could be both loving as well as protective. The Rottador fills both of these checkboxes, and their popularity has been continuously growing over the years.
This large breed, weighing between 70-115 pounds, also goes by the names “Labrottie”, “Labweiller”, “Rottwador” and “Rott’n Lab”. Their Rottweiler parent breed has induced them to be remarkable watchdogs and you can be sure that nobody will be entering your property without you being alerted long before they make it to the front door. While they are typically not aggressive dogs, their bark alone is usually enough to make any potential intruder make a quick U-turn and go back to where they came from.
This breed is truly a pleasure to be around as they have such kind-hearted personalities. They love getting plenty of pets from their people and will reciprocate as much affection as they can offer. This breed is however best suited for a more active family as they are highly energetic and they will require plenty of physical activity every day. Allowing them to burn off their energy is not a recommendation, but rather a necessity. A bored and energetic Rottador left at home can become highly destructive, so take your pup to the dog park today!
