Balloch Castle & Country Park, located in the stunning Loch Lomond area of the Highlands, is an excellent destination for dog owners looking to enjoy a family-friendly outdoor outing. The park features beautiful woodland walks, including the Whinny Hill Path, which is a gravel trail that winds through the serene Whinny Wood. Although there are limited waste bins available, the paths offer various scenic spots, including a lovely bench where you can rest and enjoy refreshments while your furry friend takes in the surroundings. Recent visitors rave about the experience, highlighting the picturesque views and the invigorating walks that lead to an open field, perfect for letting your dog roam. Be prepared for some muddy areas, especially after rain, but the stunning vistas are well worth it. It’s a great way to tire out your pup with a good hike, and many dog owners have noted how satisfying it is to return home with a happy, worn-out dog!

Part of balloch Park there is a woodland walk called whinny hill path. This is a gravel path and takes you up through the whinny wood, cross the road and through gate and steep walk to the whinny hill. Lovely walk, halo loved it 😀 not much bins but afterwards you get to a sign saying you can do a round walk through another wood and up to him and bench for break. We did this, very muddy. But worth the views, the open field and sat on the bench for drink and something to eat. Coming back down was just as nice. All I can say us, my pup is sound sleep, my boots are cleaned and taking a rest.
