Damper Creek Reserve, located at 38-50 Park Rd, Mount Waverley VIC 3149, Australia, is an official dog park that has long been a favorite destination for local dog owners. This picturesque park features a 1km nature trail that was previously entirely off-leash but now has been altered to require dogs to be on-lead as of July 1, 2023, with only small pockets of land still offering off-leash areas. Clear signage is provided at both ends of the trail to guide visitors. The park is home to a creek, which often has water during the cooler months but can dry up in summer, leaving only a pond with year-round water. Dog owners may encounter wildlife such as ducks and tortoises during their visits, as well as the sounds of resident kookaburras in the mornings. While the park has received user reviews highlighting its natural beauty and suitability for dog walking, some visitors have expressed disappointment over the recent changes to the off-leash policy. Many believe the 4-star rating would have been 5 if the previous off-leash status had remained. Overall, Damper Creek Reserve offers a lovely setting for dog walks, provided you adhere to the new leash requirements.

This 1km long nature trail along Damper Creek in Mount Waverley was a great favourite with locals and their dogs for decades being entirely off leash. However, effective from 1 July 2023, Monash Council has made the main trails all on lead with only small pockets of land still off leash. There are signs at both ends of the trail showing where these are. In the cooler, wetter months there is water in the creek although it dries up in summer with only a pond having water year round. There are occasional ducks in the pond and if you are there during the daytime you may see tortoises as well. There are resident Kookaburras that are often heard of a morning. The 4 stars rating would have been 5 if it was still all off leash.
