Welcome to the dog park in Glen Forbes, VIC! This fenced-off-leash area is perfect for letting your furry friend run free while you enjoy the nearby seating and shaded areas. With free parking and no entry fee, it's an inviting spot for a fun day out with your pup. However, note that this park also shares space with a children's playground, cricket pitch, and tennis courts, which may pose a challenge for off-leash play. While the park features some amenities like a few dog toys and a pathway around the cricket pitch, it does have its drawbacks. There's only one entry gate, and the fencing can be a bit worn, so keep an eye on your pooch to prevent any escape attempts! Be cautious of potential hazards like slippery paths and broken pipes. If you’re planning a visit, it’s good to be prepared for these conditions, as well as the absence of amenities like water fountains or poop bags. Overall, this park offers a decent space for dogs to frolic, but vigilance is advised for a safe and enjoyable outing.

This park is fully fenced, while sharing that fenced space with a kids playground, cricket pitch, tennis court and gazebo area. Which in part is great if you want to take your family out for a picnic lunch and bring the dogs, but off leash dogs and kids don’t always mix. There is only one gate at the entry point, which has bent, sharp mesh at the bottom to present escape from underneath. The path has been eroded and when wet is incredibly slippery. (I’ve raised this with the council on 18.6.23) There are loads of hazards, with a ditch behind the gazebo, broken sharp pipes on the water tank, and fencing that is easily broken and not so easy to spot gaps in. It has a path that goes around the cricket pitch which is good. This makes it easier to wander with the dogs, get to the other areas to pick up after them, without having to go through the mud. Some toys are left behind in a big bucket, with sports equipment in a box, covered in cob webs. I think it’s nice that these are there, but they’ll make a good hiding spot for spiders and snakes, not the smartest storage for an Aussie park surrounded by bushland and paddocks.
