Thia dog park requires a yearly permit from South Saint Paul parks and rec. You simply stop in 125 3rd ave n in SSP and bring rabies cert. $20 residents $30 non residents. It os a great way for the city park to provide a safe and well cared for dog park. By safe I mean that all dogs are (supposed) vetted and registered. With this policy in place it means our dogs are a lot safer here than other dog parks. If ever there is an issue,a problem dog, or bite, the victim has some protection. The park provides poop bags and garbage too. There is also a water station just outside the fenced area with a dog bowl integrated into it! Theres a big and small dog area. It is wheelchair ♿️ accessible. The problem I found here is the lack of shade. However the park put up shelters over picnic tables in two areas to get out of the sun/rain/snow. So, this park is a great big open field where dogs can run all over yet stay within site. I found it ideal for off leash dog training. Just please people, get a pass. It keeps everyone safe and healthy. Thanks! See you there!

I love the people and the pups who visit this park, but otherwise there’s not much to write home about. It’s in a beautiful area full of lots of trails to explore on leash with your pup, but the park itself is just a fenced open field with one small shaded sitting area. Though I enjoy it, it’s not our favorite place.
