Miller Park in Winston-Salem, NC, is a fantastic destination for dog owners looking for a pleasant outing. The park features a friendly atmosphere with a dog-friendly trail that allows you to explore shaded wooded areas and spacious open fields. While the park is great for walks, it’s important to remember that dogs must be kept on-leash, and the trails may be narrow, which could be challenging for reactive dogs needing extra space. Amenities include benches for resting and picnic shelters for a break from the sun, along with free parking and wheelchair accessibility. Although the park lacks some specific features such as a fully fenced area or off-leash space, it provides a welcoming environment for enjoying the outdoors with your furry friend. Since it's located near a neighborhood with plenty of sidewalks, you can easily extend your walk beyond the park as well. Just be prepared to bring your own waste bags, as they are not provided. Miller Park holds a solid 4-star rating from the DogPack community, so your pup is likely to have a great time!

Miller Park has a lot to offer during a visit. There are trails where you can walk your dog through wooded areas or around larger fields, picnic shelters and benches if you need a break from the sun, and large fields where your dog can sniff or enjoy a long line. The park is also adjacent to a great neighborhood with plenty of sidewalks if you want to extend your walk. Note if you have a reactive dog: the trails/walkways do not offer a lot of space to pass other dogs/humans. If your dog needs a healthy amount of space in order to feel safe passing other dogs/humans, your only real option is to use the space around the open field.
