Southland Drive SE &, Deerfoot Trail, Calgary, AB T2J 1S1 park-icon-wath
Located at Southland Drive SE & Deerfoot Trail in Calgary, this official dog park offers a spacious and well-maintained environment for your furry friends. With multiple fenced areas, including dedicated zones for reactive or smaller dogs, it provides a secure space for play and socialization. Many users praise the park for its massive size, ample garbage bins, and convenient access to a swimming area, making it a popular spot among dog owners, particularly those with medium to large breeds. The park's layout encourages dogs to explore and meet new friends, enhancing the experience for both pets and their owners. However, potential visitors should consider some mixed reviews. While many love the park's vibrant dog community and facilities, others have expressed concerns about the behavior of certain dogs and their owners, highlighting that a significant number of dogs tend to be larger breeds with owners who are less proactive in managing their dogs' behavior. Additionally, some users have noted issues such as limited parking and proximity to the highway, which can lead to noise and unpleasant smells in certain areas. Overall, while this park is a favorite among many, it may require some vigilance from owners seeking a well-managed environment for their pets.

one of my favourite dog parks! it is secure & has multiple areas including an space for reactive dogs. there’s always many dogs here so it’s my go to for meeting new dogs- it’s not too crowded though! i think it’s important to note that the majority of these dogs are medium-large breeds (which in my experience are all pretty well behaved). it has a really nice swimming area. overall, this is definitely one of my go to dogs parks, totally recommend!🐾❤️

Massive park, lots of different areas to access, multiple garbage bins, outhouses, multiple access points to the river. Two separate fenced areas for smaller dogs or training

I like the proximity to water and the many garbage bins but that is all I like about this dog park. The parking lot is horrible and not even close to big enough. More than 90% of the dogs are really big every time I visit. The people there are the worst though. They do not react at all when their massive dogs jump up in my face, which happens every single visit. Not even once in my 5 visits has anyone so much as said no or down never mind doing anything to correct the behaviour or apologize. It is the worst dog park in Calgary if you are hoping for responsible owners who clean up after their dogs and demand good behaviour. Also, it’s so close to the highway it’s crazy loud and there is no shade until you get all the way to the water. The parking lot smells like pee all year round. Not a pleasant experience.

Amazing fenced park. Good trail along the river for the pups. I go here every day and it's absolutely worth it.
